Proposal by Transport for Leigh was presented at a Public Meeting hosted by Andy Burnham MP.
The proposal had been amended, following the meeting with LENDF, to include an extension to the Bypass which would then connect with Winwick Lane.
This new road would only be for cars and therefore not an effective bypass !
LENDF’s proposal is for the train station to be at Wilton Lane and also to create an effective bypass for both lorries and cars taking traffic out of the centre of Lowton.
This proposal will save the destruction of 4 working farms.
